I- LARGE HELICAL DEVICE - the largest superconducting stellarator in the world. The Japanese fusion research device consists of intertwined coils of superconducting material, and is designed to contain a 100-million-degree nuclear fusion plasma. II- WENDELSTEIN 7-AS stellarator experiment. The aim of fusion research is to build a power plant which will produce useful energy by fusing atomic nuclei , as opposed to splitting them (fission).
